The speakers and remote are unfortunately not waterproof but they have been designed to operate in a bathroom environment. For example, do not install the speakers directly above the shower when it will be in constant contact with steam.
The remote cannot be used in the shower either but can obviously be set before you get in (there's even a function via the remote whereby the radio can turn on when the lights do, so you don't even need to touch the remote). The Select version comes with a handy self-adhesive hook to keep the remote safe and out of the way too, which is a bonus.

Alternatively should you want to listen to your iPod, other generic MP3 or CD player wirelessly you can do so by attaching it to an FM transmitter (e.g. commonly known as an iTrip) via the headphone jack. The iTrip sends your iPod's music via FM radio waves which can then be tuned into by the KBSOUND radio.
There are three speaker options, 2 Inch. 2,5 Inch and 2 Inch. , and the speakers are of very good quality. From the remote or wall mounted control panel the speakers can be increased in bass and treble, plus there's also a 'loud' function that can be enabled which really makes a difference.
Some installation places are more suitable than others as it's better to box the speakers in as much as possible. For instance, if installed in the upstairs ceiling use some loft insulation at the back of the speaker as this creates a small air pocket for the speaker to reverberate against. The kitchen plinth is also a good place to install, or even in the walls too.
Generally, the speakers do not need to be as loud, as the music is coming down at you, rather than from across the room as with a conventional stereo. There's also some great feedback from customers on the sound quality which is certainly worth a look.
In theory it is possible to add more or larger speakers. However, the product is designed to run just 2 speakers and the output therefore is designed accordingly. Larger speakers wouldn't receive enough power to do them justice and more speakers would drain the power designed to run the 2 speakers it comes with.
The KBSOUND can be used in multiple rooms, they work independently, and even different models can be used simultaneously.
